how often should a local business actually post?

ask the internet how often to post and you'll get answers from once a day to seven times a day. most of that advice is built for big brands with a whole team. you run a business and post in the gaps between actual work. so let's be real about what works for you.

the honest number

three times a week, every week, beats seven times one week and nothing the next. the feeds reward steady. a channel that goes quiet for ten days has to climb back up every time it returns. one that shows up like clockwork gets shown more, even at a lower volume.

so the question isn't "what's the maximum." it's "what can i keep up forever." for most local businesses that's three posts a week. if you can only truly sustain two, do two and do them well.

why quality wins at low volume

a post that gets watched to the end, saved, or sent to a friend teaches the feed to show your stuff to more people. a post that gets a scroll-past does the opposite. five weak posts can actually shrink your reach. two strong ones grow it.

that's the trap with "post more." more isn't free. every weak post is a small vote against you.

what those few posts should be

you don't need variety for variety's sake. a simple weekly rhythm works:

  • one short video. the result of a job, a quick how-to, or a behind-the-scenes moment.
  • one proof post. a before-and-after, a happy customer, a finished job.
  • one human post. you, the team, the van, the shop. people buy from people.

that's three posts that each do a different job, and none of them takes a studio to make.

the part nobody mentions

posting is half the work. the other half is answering. when someone comments or sends a message and gets ignored, that's a lead walking out the door. reply fast, reply human, and the same three posts a week will pull more than someone else's daily grind.

if keeping that up sounds like one more thing you don't have time for, that's literally the job we do. tell us about your business and we'll take it off your plate.
